Death in Your Hands

Hello Corvids, have you ever been to a convention and you suddenly find yourself surrounded by sweaty human bodies everywhere? Considering I know most of you from conventions, I’m sure you know exactly what I’m talking about! Well, THAT my friends (in a nut shell), was exactly what spawned the idea of making these… seriously. You can learn more about the development of the Death is Silent hand fans here.

A opened black hand and with art work a pale woman shushing with blood dripping from her lips and mascara running down her cheeks. There is also a red storage pouch sitting in front of it.

BUY A FAN HERE ]

You can now put death in your hands with my new Limited Edition “Death” Hand Fans! …but only if you click this link right here… or, you know, the one down below. Keep in mind, that even though you might be buying “Death,” most doctors recommend avoiding it by preventing horrid things like heat stroke. Heat stroke can be prevented by regulating your body heat… which, if you’re following my nonsensical stream of logic here, may very well be done with a hand fan! By this logic you can say that “Death” then just becomes a elegant part of your road to staying alive! Now, If THAT isn’t reason enough to buy one of these pretties, you may also want to be aware that there will only be 300 of this design ever made; that way, these fans will be extra special! I set aside the first 25 of these specifically for those of you “Mailing Listers” who have signed up for the mailing list because I’m super grateful that you’re interested enough to read these rambling things they call newsletters. :]

Anyway, thanks for reading and enjoy staying cool this summer!

*Your fan number will be based on order of purchase, so act fast!

What’s that you say? BS Diplomas? Why yes, indeed. You can now get your Bachelors of Science in the studies of Whorology, Debauchery, Bastardology, Haterology, Wizardry, Necromancy, and Monsterology. They will be hand embossed with gold foil “Corvink Approved” seals and printed on actual parchment paper (just like the real thing). We will be debuting these this weekend at Emerald City Comicon at Booth 605.

Yes dudes, that mean you too can buy one, it’s not just for women anymore! Due to the popularity and the numerous requests from both men and women to print this on unisex tees, I’ve now made this design available again! Also, because of the fact that I was re-printing these through a new printer I decide to take advantage of this new printing and re-design the logo a bit too. If you look closely and compare this design from the old one you’ll see that the muffins are now tilting outward and the Muffin Co. is on a ribbon. I know they are small changes, but for me I think they did a lot. I hope you all enjoy this new design! Pre-Order now and you will save $4 AND get a free Mini Exclusive Mini Print with your order!

Greetings Corvids, it’s November and a lot of things have happened since we last touched base back in August. Time really has flown hasn’t it? There is A LOT of news that I can go on about. That way if you want to learn more about what I was thinking when I was creating the new thingamajig, you can! Did you know that thingamajig is a real word? Apparently it is. Anyway, without further ado, let me fill you in on some of the highlights! [ Also, I should also have a big announcement come December regarding a change regarding my comics, as well as new wallpapers in the coming updates, so stay tuned!

L.A.W.L.S. Character Tattoo [Print Series]

I’m happy to announce this new release, the Corvink Tattoo Print Series, featuring characters from L.A.W.L.S. and ALT. This series is something that I’ve been pretty excited to do for a while. It’s inception started back in 2010 when Cadence first appeared in a strip called Dance Til You’re Dead. When considering my characters personalities I began writing tag lines that would help define who they are through out the duration of my comics, this way I could keep them more constant in my head. The following are the new prints now available in the store.

Corvink Approved Propaganda [Print Series]

As Corvink has started to develop it’s own overall aesthetic, some of the original prints I had drawn prior to creating Corvink began to feel a bit dated. This got me to re-evaluate some of my work and look for overall themes and similarity with in these prints. That’s when I noticed that there was a definite satirical and very propaganda-esque attitude across multiple pieces. Once I decided which were going to be a part of this series I opened all their original files and made touch ups to them. Each of them are now a bit grittier to give you a more “old-timey war” feel.

Corvink Pentacle Necklace

It’s time to release what I hope to be the first of many jewelry items. The first of which is this sexy pentacle necklace worn by two of my characters. The more obvious of which is Autumn from ALT. and L.A.W.L.S. but also Valdis the priestess from Anhedonia Blue.

The pentagram is an ancient pagan symbol; a 5 pointed star with a circle around it. The four lower points represent the four aspects of the world; earth, water, air, and fire. The fifth, top point, represents the divine spirit.

Why hello you classy corvids you, I must apologize for my absence on keeping you guys updated, but hey I’ve been busy, a good busy. Since the last newsletter I’ve been to Phoenix Comic Con, Anime Expo, San Diego Comic Con and plenty of little art shows here in the Los Angeles area. Most of you probably signed up for these e-mailed word messages at those shows, so I’ve gotta say thank you for taking interest in my work! It was great meeting you, hopefully we will meet again at another event. Anyway, let’s talk some updates.

L.A.W.L.S. Shot Glasses

In a constant battle of wits, these two betta fish from L.A.W.L.S. Comics are forever destined to be in different containers. Balderdash! Codswallop! You say? Well, you can have a lively drunken discussion with intriguing words such as these with your friends at your next sophisticated soirée. These 2 double sided shot glasses are the first official Corvink Drinkware glasses and are only available in a set. They are standard single shot glasses; 2.25 inches tall.

A line up of shot glasses with betta fish on the front of them and the words Balderdash and Codswallop on the back.

For 2 to 3 years now I’ve been wanting to make these guys, so the fact that I’ve finally been able to sit down and bring them to life has been a great accomplishment for me. Not only that, if these do well, I plan on expanding the Corvink Drinkware series from more than just shot glasses; I hope to make pint glasses and coffee mugs as well (w/ different designs of course). Anyway you can get your shot glasses here, just make sure to drunk responsilly!

Corvink Winged Wristbands

Recently I designed some wristbands that feature the new winged Corvink logo on them. People keep asking me to make products with this logo on them so I thought I’d test the waters with some wristbands. You can get one at the site for $2 a piece OR (for a limited time only) I will be giving out 1 free with any online purchases over $30. Hope you like em! If you end up wearing them to the any show I’m at too I will also be giving out free buttons if you stop by and show us! 🙂

Remaining 2013 Shows

Tentatively the only upcoming shows I will be doing for the remainder of the year are Rose City Comic Con, in Oregon, The Zombie Fashion Show & Creature Art Exhibit and the Pancakes & Booze Art Show in Los Angeles. To keep up on other shows I may book make sure to check out the events page or follow the Twitter or Facebook feeds!

For now, that is all! Hopefully there will be a new message next month!

I wanted to thank all of you who have signed up for the Corvink newsletter and followed Corvink on social media so far. It means a lot to me that you are interested in what it is I do! That being said, I’d like to make the newsletter (and this blog) something that you are interested in, so if you ever have any thoughts please share them and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

So what can you expect from these updates and how often I post them? The current plan to send one newsletter via email once a month, on no particular date (due to how much I travel and I don’t want to send an email unless it’s important, no spam!). I’ll try to send them to you early in the month some time. Each email will feature a little blog about what’s going on with Corvink, a comic from one of the L.A.W.L.S. sites and a free wallpaper of something Corvink or L.A.W.L.S. related! Also there will be three featured items on the bottom. These are there to inform you of the monthly sale item (only available through the newsletter), upcoming events and other things that I feel may be of interest to you.

Now what about this SWAG shirt?

I’d like to keep each update relatively short, so I’ll move on to the pre-order and sale! I’m really excited about this new “SWAG” design as it is the first Corvink specific design I’ve made. Also, I wanted to up the quality of these shirt by experimenting with a “classier” screen process. Generally most shirts you buy at conventions and shows are silkscreen printed with thick ink that is layered on top of the fabric. This is all fine and dandy, but I’ve found that these shirts tend to have a life span; meaning that after a few years the print starts cracking and overtime the shirt doesn’t look as nice. I recently noticed that a few of my favorite shirts were printed differently, with a softer printing that has looked the same as the day I bought them. I took a few into my printers and they explained to me why they were different. They were printed with a process called “discharge,” which is a bit more complicated for them to do, but in the end has more permanent effect and just feels real soft and nice after one wash. After talking with them, they ran a few for me and I LOVED the way they turned out. So much so I’ll likely try to work all my future designs in a way that I can make them like this as well. So, that’s the story behind these new tees and why I’m pretty excited about them!

To pre-order yours for $4 less than the general public, use the code: SWAGSALE during check out! This pre-order sale is valid for this week only (Pre-Order ends Monday, March 18th). See y’all next month!

We’ll be there – Visit Booth 2420!

Every year I must say, I get super excited about spring. Not because of the burning bright California sun returning or the luscious green hillsides that remind you how beautiful nature really is, but because I get to book a flight to one of my favorite places in the United States: Seattle, Washington! So what is it about Seattle that I love so much, regardless of its notoriously grey skies? Well, each year I get to exhibit at Emerald City Comicon! This con not only is one of the most fun (because I get to see a lot of my friends and returning customers that I can now consider friends) but because it also marks the beginning of my convention circuit for the year.

2013 marks my fourth year exhibiting at Emerald City Comicon! I can’t believe I’ve been on the road promoting my art and comics that long. Thanks to all of your support though, it’s been completely worth it and I await more years of this to come!

One thing that is particularly exciting this year’s convention is that our booth is going to be packed full of amazingly talented and friendly cartoonist.  At our booth you can meet my good friends Andrew of I AM ARG, Ryan of ChannelATE, Justin of Invisible Bread, Paul of Woody After Hours, Jason of Robbie and Bobby and Alex & Ray of Buttersafe! If you haven’t read their comics yet, you should definitely check them out! So, if you live in Seattle or want to venture all the way to that mysterious land of known as Washington, come to the con and swing by Booth 2420! We’d love to meet you!

If you can’t make it to this show, make sure to check our events page for more upcoming conventions!
